THIS IS HOW THE 3 R'S OF HABIT CHANGE: REMINDER, ROUTINE, REWARD CAN HELP YOU TO RE-WIRE YOUR BRAIN

Do you want to transform bad habits? Does this task feel impossible? Habits are like autopilots, once triggered into gear, the autopilot continues with the same procedure, every time. If we have a bad habit, this is a curse, if we have a good habit this is a gift.


More than 12 Years ago I stopped smoking, "cold turkey" and never touched a cigarette again. I felt it was impossible to start my own practice called Life Balance Coaching, as a smoker...


Having my own practice and this whole Life Balance thing meant so much more to me than smoking, so it was really easy to stop.


Looking back the 3 R's were very present!

Reminder? Gone!

Routine? Completely new!

Reward? Being Authentic!


If you want to change a bad habit with the 3 R's here is how:


  1. identify the reminder or better, the trigger.

  2. change the routine, ideally this is a positive new routine, that you love more than your habit

  3. think about the reward. I think this is the most important step because we all are dopamine junkies.
